I bought a licence but did not get my key

It is normally emailed within a few minutes to the address you used at checkout. Check your spam or junk folder (the email comes from AI Shorties). If it is not there after 30 minutes, email us from that address with your Stripe receipt.

How do I enter my key?

Open AI Shorties, click Licence, paste the key into the box and activate. The window then says “Licensed”.

Windows says “Windows protected your PC”

This is a SmartScreen message for newer programs. Click More info, then Run anyway.

Windows says part of AI Shorties was blocked, or shows a “Bad Image” message

Some Windows 11 computers have Smart App Control turned on. It blocks programs that Microsoft does not recognise yet, and it cannot be set to allow just one app. It does not mean anything is wrong with AI Shorties or your computer.

Email us and we will help you get it running. You can also turn Smart App Control off in Windows Security → App & browser control → Smart App Control, but that lowers your PC’s protection, and on some versions of Windows 11 it cannot be turned back on without resetting Windows, so only do it if you are comfortable with that.

Can I use it on more than one computer?

Yes, on computers that you own or control, for your own personal or business use. Please do not share your key publicly.

I lost my key

Email us from the address you bought with and we will resend it.

Installing or creating a Short fails

Email us with a description of what you were doing, and attach the latest file from %LOCALAPPDATA%\AIShorties\logs if you can. Also check that you have several gigabytes of free disk space.

How do I uninstall it?

Use Settings → Apps → Installed apps in Windows. The speech files the installer added are removed too. Your trial and licence records are deliberately left so uninstalling does not reset a trial.
